Feeding the Brain with a Healthy Mental Diet

A healthy mental diet is vital when manifesting our desires, or simply to have a positive outlook on life. If we consciously feed our bodies with good food and remedies, then our minds surely are worthy of the same treatment. Social media, is a tool that when used for a purpose can be beneficial. In recent years however, many people are speaking out on how trolls, comparisons and so on are causing their mental health to suffer a great deal. The positive from this is that now there is more awareness of mental health and the mind as an entity and something to be nurtured, cared for, and respected.

A mental diet, like anything is based on conscious choice. Once we become more conscious and aware we actively choose things that can only benefit us or add value. First of all, one has to know how they want to feel and think. Then, by identifying this, the focus should shift to- what things can help me feel and think this way? Think of the mind like a unique living creature, that needs certain nutrients and minerals to grow into its healthiest state. Let’s consider some examples of a healthy mental diet, and positive things for our mental state.

  • Affirmations- speak and repeat and impress your subconscious mind with that of which you want to think and believe.
  • Music- music has such power over our thoughts and emotional state. Music has an ability to change energy at an extremely fast rate. So, if you want to feel upbeat and happy, select upbeat and happy songs.
  • Catching bad thoughts or unhelpful thought patterns. So easy to say, and hard to manage at first. But the way to become more aware of this, is by knowing what feels good. Setting aside some time each day to think good things or evoke good feelings will help you identify unhelpful thoughts. You could do this by listening to a favorite song, looking through positive memories that will evoke happy feelings, doing yoga or meditating,
  • Practicing gratitude. Gratitude for the simple things around you enables you to identify just how wealthy and lucky you are, in areas that you most likely overlooked or took for granted. It also raises your vibration- helping you to manifest what you desire faster.
  • Distancing from things that suck you into a toxic, disturbed, or troubled frame of mind.

Mental diets are so important for our well being and to put us in the state of the wish fulfilled. It can be hard at times to do and can feel unnatural, particularly when factors such as hormones or physical pain can dominate our thoughts and presence. But with persistence, it is possible to shift from one state to another. Persistence is key.
