Add Value, not to a business deal, but to Your Life First
This is a very important topic that is pretty general, but can apply to so many areas. Once you understand the concept of adding value, and apply it to the different areas of your life you will notice a huge difference in your decision making, and notice vast improvements in the outcomes.
So, what do we mean by Adding Value?

Value in this case, means the importance, worth and usefulness to your life. Christmas sales are coming up so let’s use this example. Do you buy just because things are reduced, even if you already have many items that are similar? This is where you need to think how useful and practical is it to buy these items. You will notice that you start saving more money and you will have less clutter around you. Space is very important to be able to think clearly.
Another example is, being aware of what you eat. Is it healthy? Will it contribute to you having a balanced diet? Mindfulness is another term when it comes to things like spending and diet, but adding value can also apply to friendships, work and more social situations.
It is so important to have people around you who add value to your life. This doesn’t mean you think about what they can give you because friendship and relationships don’t always work that way. But, overall do they inspire you, help you through tough times, listen to you, and can you trust them? Good people around you can help you to be more positive. No one is perfect but if they offer none of the above, especially trust, it can leave you feeling drained and unsettled.
Work is another one. There are many organisations now recognising the importance of employee well- being, so if you see no room for growth, you don’t enjoy your tasks, and are treated as a number and not valued as an individual, perhaps it is time to get some feelers for what roles out there may be more suitable for you.
So, when making decisions, and navigating through relationships always think about whether or not something/someone adds value to your life, as opposed to draining you.
It is also important to be introspective and think what positivity and value you can provide to others. If you yourself mirror the treatment and environment you wish to have around you, you are being authentic to yourself and also setting a positive example to others and yourself. This will also assist you in your decision making.
